About The Position

Founded in 2017, IMMERSE is an award-winning social VR language education platform designed by experts to help learners confidently speak a new language in any situation. By combining human-powered teaching, virtual reality technology, and artificial intelligence, Immerse is pioneering the new age of language education for learners across the globe. Our team is growing and we have several positions open for a part-time English (ESL/EFL) instructor with strong experience in online teaching and communicative teaching practices. We encourage prospective applicants to take some time to review videos on our YouTube channel that provide more context on our approach to teaching. Due to server connectivity, we are particularly interested in applicants from North America, South America, and the UK.

Requirements

• BA in TESOL or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in ESL/EFL instruction.
• Proficient in communicative and task-based teaching methodologies.
• Technologically adept and comfortable conducting online sessions for both small and large groups.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing both teaching and administrative responsibilities.
• Native or advanced proficiency in English (C2 level (CEFR) or Advanced-High (ACTFL) desired).

Nice To Haves

• Native or advanced proficiency in Spanish + experience teaching Spanish.
• Familiarity with and enthusiasm for virtual reality applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interactive English lessons in a virtual reality space to adult learners.
• Prepare for sessions using provided lesson plans and contribute to their continuous improvement based on class experiences.
• Perform administrative tasks such as providing daily reports of classes, reporting any issues or bugs, and ensuring smooth classroom operations.
• Participate in all training sessions and meetings organized by the Education Department to stay aligned with Immerse's pedagogical approaches and engagement strategies.
