About The Position

The Remote Online Notary Lead at First American Title Insurance Company is responsible for verifying signers and documents using audio-visual technology under the direction of Escrow Officers and Escrow Branch Managers. This role serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and troubleshooting for complex problems while ensuring compliance with state requirements for notarization.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Some college preferred
• Must be a Notary Public
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• 2-3 years related experience reviewing and notarizing documents
• Possess real estate/escrow/title terminology
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to understand and execute policy and procedures
• Emerging leader skills
• Establishes effective working relationships at the department level.

Responsibilities

• Act as the team's resource and subject matter expert to answer questions and create resolutions using experience, best practices, and sound judgment.
• Review and verify signer's identity according to the applicable commissioning state's requirements.
• Notarize and record documents using approved audio-visual and online technology.
• Refer all questions or concerns to Escrow Officers; this position will not offer advice on processes or procedures.
• Troubleshoot and guide others on a wide variety of complex problems and identify solutions within broad application and functional expertise.
