About The Position

PsyPhyCare is seeking Medical Case Reviewers to support the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) and the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP) under a federal agreement with HRSA. These programs provide compensation for individuals who suffer vaccine- or countermeasure-related injuries. As a Medical Case Reviewer, you will analyze petitions, medical records, and expert testimony to provide impartial, evidence-based recommendations used in litigation before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. This is a remote, contract-based opportunity with highly competitive hourly compensation.

Requirements

  • For MD/DO Medical Case Reviewers: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Active, full, and unrestricted U.S. medical license.
  • At least 5 years of experience in clinical practice or case review related to vaccine administration or injury.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • For PhD/Advanced Degree Reviewers: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a relevant biomedical or clinical discipline OR advanced degree (e.g., NP, PA, RN).
  • At least 3 years of experience conducting medical case reviews/evaluations.
  • Proficiency in medical research, literature analysis, and report writing.

  • Preferred Specialties: Pediatrics, Immunology, Neurology, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Epidemiology, Rheumatology, and related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Review medical case files including petitions, medical records, affidavits, depositions, and supporting documentation.
  • Assess adequacy of information and likelihood of vaccine causation using medical principles and literature.
  • Prepare written reports and recommendations for HRSA and the Department of Justice (DOJ).
  • Consult with Medical Experts, Team Leads, and DOJ attorneys as needed.
  • Participate in panel discussions and case presentations to reach consensus on recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal records management, HIPAA, and HRSA confidentiality standards.
  • If required, provide testimony in legal proceedings (travel reimbursed under Federal Travel Regulations).
