About The Position

As a Math Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, you'll work virtually with students to strengthen their mathematical reasoning, number sense, and problem-solving strategies. You'll provide engaging, consistent lessons using Braintrust's curriculum and materials, helping students build foundational math skills and confidence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Active or expired teaching license
• Knowledge of math instruction that builds number sense, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills, with a scope and sequence ranging from counting to multi-digit arithmetic, including decimals and fractions.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Comfort with virtual platforms and collaborating remotely with teachers and staff
• Punctuality, professionalism, and reliability for all scheduled sessions
• Reliable internet connection and appropriate technology for virtual instruction
• Passion for math and closing opportunity gaps

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual small-group or 1:1 math tutoring to students developing math skills
• Implement Braintrust Tutors intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance
• Collaborate with the Braintrust Tutors Operations team and school staff to support student growth
• Foster a supportive and engaging virtual learning environment that promotes focus and confidence
• Follow school-site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence
• Use provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction
• Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities
