Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service. Supports the teams in meeting state compliance goals. Training will be conducted virtually from your home. This is for a full-time (40 hours/week) Telecommute position in the United States. The schedule is Monday through Friday an 8-hour shift between the hours of 8:30 am to 5:00pm EST. The schedule will be determined by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher) or 4+ years of experience working within the healthcare industry or with health insurance
  • 2+ years of experience solving customer problems
  • 2+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Access to a designated quiet workspace in your home with the ability to secure Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
  • Must reside in the state of New Jersey

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with working with health care insurance
  • Experience with working in a hospital, physician's office, or medical clinic setting
  • Experience with working in a call center
  • Knowledge of HEDIS measures
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • A clerical or administrative support background

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service for incoming and outgoing telephone calls to and from members, providers, employer groups and other persons deemed necessary by management
  • Provide claims support by reviewing, researching, and investigating all clinical claims to assure members received the appropriate critical measures
  • Assists members in making follow-up appointments with his/her Provider and/or Specialist to access needed health services to close the gap in care
  • Provide telephone follow-up to ensure members are familiar with their Providers and are compliant with the preventive care services as defined by the guidelines
  • Mail Appointment cards reminder to members that were successfully scheduled for their exams
  • Mail call me letters to members unsuccessfully contacted
  • Assist with the scheduling Clinic Days
  • Assist other activities in the Quality Dept. as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
