About The Position

The Remote Certified Tumor Registrar plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the Tumor Registry at University Health. This position involves managing cancer data to ensure quality collection and compliance with standards set by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The registrar will work closely with the Tumor Registry Manager and Director of Oncology Services to assist in the day-to-day functions of the registry, focusing on the follow-up and care of cancer patients.

Requirements

• Certification as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or equivalent coursework in an approved allied health field.
• Three years of experience working as a CTR is required.
• Knowledge and use of ICD-0-3 coding principles is required; ICD-10-CM principles are preferred.
• Must reside in the state of Texas.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Medical Record Administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Tumor Registry.
• Manage the cancer data management system to ensure quality data collection.
• Ensure timely and accurate performance of the Registry in compliance with cancer program requirements.
