About The Position

In this role, you will be an integral member of the legal team, reporting to the General Counsel while providing expert legal counsel to facilitate the smooth operation of our marketplace business. This position is ideal for an experienced lawyer with an entrepreneurial mindset and exceptional attention to detail, who excels in a fast-paced startup environment. You will be instrumental in advising on complex legal matters, negotiating agreements, and supporting the growth of a dynamic fintech platform.

Requirements

• A J.D. or L.L.B. with a license to practice law in the U.S. or Canada.
• 8+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally from a law firm to in-house at a tech company.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Experience counselling product teams on various legal issues.
• Experience in advising fintech or technology companies.
• Interest in creative legal problem-solving and agile teamwork.
• Track record of sound judgment under high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Advising the business on complex product and commercial matters.
• Leading the drafting and negotiation of strategic commercial agreements.
• Overseeing the review and drafting of template agreements.
• Advising clients on complex legal issues and managing risks.
• Proactively managing large-scale projects and market launches.
• Identifying and managing cross-functional strategic initiatives.
• Building collaborative relationships across the organization.
