About The Position

In this role, you will be instrumental in defending lawsuits filed in New York courts, working in the area of first-party insurance defense. You will research laws, prepare legal briefs, and collaborate closely with the Claims Department to provide expert opinions on liability and damages. Requirements

2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury
Juris Doctor degree required
Admission to the New York Bar required
Licensed in good standing to practice law in New York
Ability to travel as required for trials and meetings
Excellent written documentation skills
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Ability to learn and apply technical and procedural information

Responsibilities

Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery for trials and hearings
Defend all matters assigned in trial or dispositive hearings
