About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Remote Assistant Distribution Center Manager. In this dynamic role, you will oversee and enhance warehouse operations at a central distribution facility. Your leadership will inspire a high-performing team while ensuring effective collaboration with various departments to optimize the supply chain and distribution workflows. You will play a crucial role in managing logistics, promoting efficiency, and supporting the company's growth objectives. This position also involves occasional travel and the implementation of innovative practices that contribute to operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Understanding of IFS Operating system and E-Commerce.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in distribution center operations, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, including remote direct reports.
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with automated Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • HAZMAT and DOT certification or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations within the distribution center, focusing on improvements in lead time, cost efficiency, quality, inventory accuracy, and service levels.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipping of finished goods through team supervision.
  • Design and optimize facility layouts and product flow to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain high inventory accuracy through effective cycle counting and control processes.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to manage and balance inventory levels.
  • Analyze and implement strategies to optimize transportation and warehouse networks.
  • Track and trace all shipments effectively.
  • Manage customer requests and priorities with cost-effective solutions.
  • Lead implementation of barcoding systems in warehouses without WMS.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual departmental budget.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, creating new measures as needed.
  • Recruit, train, and develop warehouse staff.
  • Introduce innovative techniques in distribution and inventory management.
