About The Position

The Remote Accountant position at our innovative online accounting firm focuses on providing monthly accounting and advisory services to clients in the Green Industry. This role emphasizes client engagement and collaboration, allowing the accountant to work with multiple clients without the pressures of a busy tax season. The successful candidate will leverage cloud-based platforms to develop and analyze financial statements, providing valuable insights and advice to clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or Associate's degree with additional years of experience.
• 2 to 5 years of related experience in accounting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with QuickBooks for at least 1 year.
• Ability to learn new online software and comfort with technology.

Responsibilities

• Handling bookkeeping through QuickBooks Online for multiple companies.
• Conducting reconciliation of all accounts on a monthly and as needed basis.
• Leading virtual client accounting advisory meetings.
• Communicating directly with clients via phone, email, and video chat software.
• Interpreting and applying accounting policies, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Preparing financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data.
• Assisting controller and CFO clients with job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and revenue recognition.
• Helping clients with payroll setup and use of payroll software through a third-party partner.
• Assisting clients in the onboarding stage and performing cleanup and catch-up accounting work.
• Proactively addressing and responding to potential issues.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
