About The Position

The position involves the debit and/or credit of receivables by payor, using HIPAA compliant reason/remit codes. It includes the debit and/or credit of allowances to receivables applied by federal payer and/or managed care contracts. All entries must follow acceptable accounting principles and Monument Health guidelines. The role also requires the proper distribution of funds for goods and services furnished by all facilities, including debit or credit entries into the general ledger.

Requirements

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with Physician Billing Software.
• Ability to identify and resolve posting issues.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a healthcare finance environment.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review, balance, and post the payments received on a daily basis.
• Process payments in accordance with policy and guideline.
• Key payments to the transaction standards daily.
• Identify posting issues and determine how to resolve them.
• Distinguish if issues are clearinghouse related, system related, or banking related.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of Physician Billing Software to assist with proper posting of payments from electronic bank posting information.
• Prepare daily bank deposits.
• Participate in departmental activities related to performance improvement and quality control.
• Attend mandatory training sessions as directed by the Corporate Compliance Officer and the Billing Compliance Officer.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
