The Reminiscence Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing the reminiscence neighborhood at Sunrise Senior Living. This role focuses on promoting excellence in resident care, developing individualized service plans, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The coordinator will also engage with families, oversee staff training, and manage the overall operations of the reminiscence program, which is tailored for residents with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

  • Plan, organize, develop, and lead the overall operation of the reminiscence neighborhood in accordance with laws and Sunrise standards.
  • Champion quality delivery of the Resident Centered model and reminiscence programming.
  • Partner with the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator to ensure a variety of individualized activities are available.
  • Design, schedule, and facilitate the reminiscence program incorporating Life Skills and dementia-appropriate activities.
  • Manage the assessment process to determine levels of care and staff.
  • Oversee planning for family events and services.
  • Establish cooperative relationships with local Alzheimer's organizations and facilitate educational support for families.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and Sunrise standards regarding resident care.
  • Assist in the community budget and manage department expenses.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, train, and develop team members.
  • College degree preferred.
  • One year supervisory experience preferred, including experience in dementia care.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and delegate assignments effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications.
  • Experience in senior living or healthcare environments.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and dementia care best practices.
