About The Position

New York Air Brake is seeking a Remanufacturing Technician for the 3rd Shift, which operates from Sunday to Thursday, 10 PM to 6:30 AM. The position involves disassembly and reassembly of air compressor components, utilizing various tools and equipment, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The technician will be responsible for final assembly testing of locomotive air compressors and maintaining accurate log sheets. This role does not have supervisory responsibilities and requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to Two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly and reassembly of air compressor components.
• Use of calipers and bore gauge, power and manual tools.
• Daily part changes outs for Sunnen hone machine.
• Piston/Cylinder assembly.
• Final assembly of locomotive air compressors (various models).
• Final assembly testing of completed locomotive air compressors.
• Properly filling out log sheets with before and after measurements.
• Fill in as back-up technician as needed.
• Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
• Adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
• Support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
• Support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
