About The Position

The Relief Supervisor for the Fresh Mozzarella Department at Lactalis North America is responsible for filling in for supervisors and performing various supervisory functions. This role involves overseeing daily operations related to Fresh Mozzarella production, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and maintaining quality standards. The position requires collaboration with other departments to enhance technical and financial performance while fostering a safe and positive work environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or lead person experience required.
  • Experience in production, packaging, warehouse, or distribution center preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, Food Safety, FDA, and USDA regulations.
  • Familiarity with ISO and certifications within the food industry (FSSC, ISO9001).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the department manager to enhance the technical and financial performance of the department.
  • Direct adjustments of the manufacturing processes to maintain conformance with standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review reports on production volume, yields, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate activities with other supervisors to ensure smooth operations across departments.
  • Schedule staff and estimate work hour requirements for daily job assignments.
  • Review and approve time records of all staff assigned, explaining variances in hours worked and productivity.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure adherence to GMP, GSP, FSSC practices, and QC policies.
  • Collect and provide data necessary for budget creation or implementation.
  • Support and maintain a safe and positive work environment, ensuring effective employee relations.
  • Analyze and assist in resolving work and/or employee issues.
