About The Position

As a Relief Pharmacist at Meijer, you will dispense medication accurately, verify prescriptions, and counsel patients related to medications. You will also supervise Pharmacy Technicians, assist the Pharmacy Manager with inventory and pharmacy operations, and ensure overall patient satisfaction. This position requires you to float to stores throughout the Central IL market.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana).
• Retail/Community Practice experience.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy systems and policies.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements in the state the unit operates.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
• Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
• Competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
• Effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Listen to the patient and resolve patient's needs, providing customer service.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, will be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations.
