As our Relief Pharmacist, you play a personal role within your community by ensuring that your patients receive medication and care that they need. You must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy, promotes patient care and education including patient consultations and immunizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
  • Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
  • Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana).
  • Retail/Community Practice experience.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy system, policies and procedures, and understanding of regulatory in the state the unit operates.

Responsibilities

  • Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
  • Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner.
  • Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
  • Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
  • Be competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and be an agent of change.
  • Exhibit excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Listen to the patient and resolve patient’s needs, providing customer service.
  • In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
  • Perform and oversee (where allowed) clinical services, including immunizations.
