About The Position

The Relief Person in Facilities is responsible for the care and maintenance of park buildings, grounds, restrooms, and other assigned areas under the supervision of the Supervisor of Facility Management. This role involves directing maintenance employees, performing janitorial tasks, operating various tools and equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The incumbent must demonstrate good judgment, independence, and professionalism while interacting with the public and managing day-to-day operations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in maintenance practices related to municipal parks.
• Experience operating powered floor care equipment.
• Knowledge of floor care maintenance techniques and janitorial products.
• Valid Indiana driver's license with for hire endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Care and maintenance of buildings, grounds, restrooms, and facilities in parks.
• Direct the work of maintenance employees to accomplish tasks.
• Perform janitorial maintenance in park buildings and facilities.
• Operate various power tools and hand tools for maintenance tasks.
• Utilize chemical agents for cleaning and weed control.
• Complete required records and work reports accurately and timely.
• Remove refuse and litter from park areas and maintain cleanliness.
• Make minor repairs to facilities and equipment, including graffiti removal.
• Maintain and operate city-owned vehicles and snow removal equipment.
• Report any irregularities with facilities, grounds, or equipment.
