About The Position

The Position: The Relief Operator supports manufacturing operations by providing coverage for production operators during absences, breaks, vacations, or periods of increased demand when not This role is responsible for safely operating multiple machines or production lines, ensuring consistent product quality, and maintaining continuous production flow. When not assigned to relief coverage, the Relief Operator will assist in other production-related tasks as directed by supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred
  • Ability to learn and operate multiple machines or processes
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Manually lift and move product and materials up to 55 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch and bend.
  • Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering for truck.
  • Walk, sit or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks.
  • Push / pull 100lbs.
  • See, inspect, and evaluate product quality
  • Read and understand written work instructions in English
  • Work in a non-climate controlled environment, including hot and humid conditions.
  • Walk up and down steps
  • Climb ladders and stairs of varying height
  • Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Protective Footwear; Hearing Protection Protective Eyewear Gloves
  • Additional PPE may as required by specific tasks

Responsibilities

  • Operate manufacturing equipment and production lines in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Provide relief coverage across various machines, and workstations
  • Monitor production processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met
  • Perform equipment start-ups, shutdowns, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting
  • Conduct routine inspections and report mechanical or process issues to supervision or maintenance
  • Complete production logs, quality checks, and other required documentation
  • Follow all plant safety, environmental, and quality policies
  • Assist with material handling and housekeeping tasks
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, and production team members
  • Support training of new operators when needed
