This is a night shift position with hours from 6 PM to 6 AM. The Relief Operator will provide rest breaks, meal periods, and day off relief for team members in identified process, filling, and packaging positions in accordance with work schedules. The role involves the safe and efficient operation of production filling and packaging equipment, including product fill systems, automated case forming, packaging, case packing, and palletizing equipment. Responsibilities include following standard operating procedures (SOPs), collecting routine product samples, performing quality assurance inspections, generating pallet identification labels, and ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing.
  • Dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to operate equipment controls.
  • Lift truck certification or ability to obtain certification per OSHA standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good PC skills, efficiency with MS Excel and ERP applications, SAP preferred.
  • Demonstrated good attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide rest breaks, meal periods, and day off relief for team members.
  • Operate production filling and packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Set-up, operate, and replenish fiber gluer and/or taping equipment.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) in detail without deviation.
  • Collect routine product samples and perform seal integrity testing.
  • Generate pallet identification labels according to production schedules.
  • Set-up case coding equipment and validate product case codes.
  • Verify and record accurate product case quantities.
  • Identify and communicate any out-of-specification product conditions.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments and complete production records.
  • Perform equipment change-overs, clean-up operations, and set-up.
  • Support internal and external audits and follow established safety procedures.
  • Cross-train with other departments and maintain good housekeeping.
