About The Position

We are currently accepting applications for licensed temporary marine engineering positions including 2nd Assistant Engineer, and 3rd Assistant Engineer. These temporary relief positions will fill in while the permanent crew are on shore, and applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner's Credential endorsed as [Third or Second] Assistant Engineer of steam, Motor and Gas Rubine Propelled Vessels.
  • Officer in charge of an engineering watch (OICEW) endorsement.
  • All applicable training as required by the Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers.
  • Unexpired U.S. Passport.
  • TWIC card.
  • Unexpired USCG medical certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with newer vessel propulsion systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Possess basic operational understanding and experience working with shipboard systems.
  • Understand fuel oil bunkering procedures & emergency response.
  • Have an understanding of shipboard electrical systems.
  • Use basic machine & hand tools safely.
  • Demonstrate basic math & computer skills.
  • Exhibit strong mechanical problem-solving skills.
