About The Position

Advanced Veterinary Specialists (AVS) is seeking Relief Registered Veterinary Technicians or experienced Senior Veterinary Assistants to support our specialty and emergency teams on an as-needed basis. If you’re looking to stay connected to ER or specialty care without a full-time commitment, this is a great opportunity to contribute your skills in a meaningful way.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current California RVT license preferred, but not required
• Emergency or specialty hospital experience strongly preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and colleagues
• Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations for medication doses, CRIs, estimates, and invoices
• Must maintain or obtain a California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire (waived if RVT)
• Dependable, team-oriented, and calm under pressure

Benefits

• $22.00 – $35.00/hour, based on experience and credentials
• Additional $2.00/hour differential for hours worked between 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
