About The Position

The Relief Driver (Class B) at Hygeia Dairy is responsible for providing backup support for the company when regular drivers are on vacation or unavailable. This role involves operating a straight truck or pup truck to deliver products safely and on time according to a predetermined delivery route. The driver must maintain up-to-date knowledge of delivery routes and demonstrate high standards of customer service while communicating effectively with peers and supervisors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Up to 2 years of experience driving a straight truck or pup truck within the last 5 years preferred.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Must meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle Records.
• Must meet all DOT requirements.
• Valid Class B/Class B with Air Brake CDL.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations, and policies adhering to all safety practices.
• Deliver pre-ordered or unscheduled products to customers according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations.
• Follow designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnel.
• Report delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns.
• Load and unload product as required at designated stops.
• Collect empty cases.
• Provide merchandising support based on customer requirements.
• Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with customers.
• Ensure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Complete all daily paperwork fully and correctly each day.
• Ensure sufficient route inventory levels to meet customer demands.
• Attend all driver workshops and training sessions.
• Use company-supported applications or systems properly.
• Represent DFA positively and professionally at all times.
