About The Position

Glendale Place Nursing and Rehab Center is a family-owned and operated facility, centrally located off I-75 and Glendale Milford, just south of I-275. Job Description: Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, recipes, and dietary requirements. Ensure that all meals are of high quality, visually appealing, and served at the appropriate temperature. Adjust recipes to accommodate special dietary needs or requests (e.g., allergies, vegetarian, low-sodium). Food Safety & Sanitation: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, including countertops, equipment, and storage areas. Monitor and record temperatures of food and equipment to ensure compliance with health regulations. Kitchen Operations: Assist with menu planning and food inventory management as needed. Check and replenish stock to avoid shortages; inform the Kitchen Manager of required supplies. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, and mixers safely. Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure meal preparation runs smoothly. Provide guidance and support to other kitchen personnel as required. Communicate effectively with other departments to meet service expectations. Miscellaneous: Assist with serving meals during peak times, as needed. Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The team member may be required to perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in food service is preferred, but not required
  • Must have strong communication and customer service skills
  • Must be able to follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
