About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the safe and orderly transportation of students on assigned routes. The individual will operate a school bus that transports students and other authorized personnel to and from schools or other designated locations. The role requires active engagement in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Requirements

• Valid Texas commercial driver's license with passenger endorsement.
• DPS School Bus Driver Certification.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Ability to complete required bus driver safety training.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of student discipline procedures.
• Ability to manage student behavior.
• Ability to operate all makes and models of district fleet.
• Maintain a good driving record.
• Demonstrated ability to enter and exit rear emergency door of bus.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a CCISD school bus driver or 4 years' experience as a school bus driver preferred.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of the district and ability to drive in any area assigned.
• Work a rotating flexible schedule.
• Operate any and all transportation bus makes and models.
• Operate the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
• Follow assigned route and adhere to established procedures.
• Follow established procedures for reporting issues with routes as set in the Transportation Handbook.
• Adhere to all student IEP requirements.
• Supervise students during transportation.
• Report student discipline problems to supervisor.
• Conduct student counts/run registers as required by TEA.
• Operate all emergency equipment and access emergency exits.
• Report all accidents, vehicle damage, student injuries, and mechanical failures to dispatch immediately and complete all required documentation.
• Check vehicle for mechanical defects and submit any issues via electronic post trip.
• Maintain proper and appropriate radio communication etiquette.
• Maintain punctuality and daily attendance for scheduled work shifts.
• Adhere to all district and departmental policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
• Stay up-to-date professionally through quality professional learning opportunities.

• Participate fully in drills and safety exercises to ensure the safety and emotional wellbeing of students.
• Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
• Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and deadlines.
• Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders.
• Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
• Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication.
• Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
