About The Position

This role will focus on executing environmental and electrical tests, developing test setups and data acquisition systems, and analyzing test data to support design-for-reliability and product qualification activities for outdoor electronic and electromechanical systems. The intern will work closely with Reliability Engineers to generate meaningful test data that informs design decisions and long-term product robustness.

Requirements

  • Currently in final year or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in a related field
  • Ability to commit to a 10–12-week internship beginning May 18, 2026 (Group 1) or June 15, 2026 (Group 2)
  • Availability to work full-time onsite in Fremont, CA

Responsibilities

  • Execute hands-on reliability and validation tests, including thermal cycling, temperature-humidity bias, vibration, mechanical stress, and functional stress testing
  • Assist in test setup, instrumentation, and fixturing, including sensors for temperature, voltage, current, and mechanical response
  • Develop and modify data acquisition and test automation scripts (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar)
  • Collect, clean, and organize test data from chambers, power supplies, DAQs, and lab instruments
  • Perform basic data analysis (trend analysis, failure signatures, degradation metrics) and create plots and summaries
  • Support test documentation, including test plans, procedures, and summary reports
  • Assist with failure triage and root cause investigations under guidance of senior engineers
  • Maintain lab organization, calibration logs, and test records as needed
