About The Position

The Reliability Technician at Ergon - West Virginia, Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the facility through Predictive Maintenance methods. This position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement, ensuring that all maintenance activities are conducted efficiently and effectively. The technician will utilize various tools and techniques, including vibration analysis and infrared imaging, to maintain and enhance the reliability of equipment.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
  • Seven years' experience in a maintenance environment
  • Working knowledge of mechanical equipment, mechanical repairs, electrical equipment, and vibration analysis
  • Above average computer skills
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Customer service mindset and works well independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Always keep safe work habits as the highest priority
  • Develop good working relationships with all co-workers, customers, and associates
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized workspace at all times
  • Exemplifies high level of moral and ethical standards and values
  • Stay current on Predictive Maintenance methods
  • Focus on improving Predictive Maintenance activities
  • Create and maintain inspection routes for Predictive Maintenance activities
  • Collect vibration data on rotating equipment
  • Utilize infrared camera to scan electrical components for hot spots
  • Collect oil samples from compressor reservoirs for analysis by third party
  • Troubleshoot and report vibration issues
  • Troubleshoot and report hot connections found with IR scans
  • Create notifications for repairs associated with Predictive Maintenance findings
  • Track status of repairs related to Predictive Maintenance findings and perform follow up inspections (vibration, IR, etc.)
  • Maintain Predictive Maintenance reports, tools and equipment
  • Assist other departments with troubleshooting as needed by utilizing Predictive Maintenance tools
  • Assist with various tasks as needed and directed by the Asset Integrity Supervisor
  • Participate in other miscellaneous reliability, project and maintenance work as necessary to meet the needs of the facility
  • Provide new equipment recommendations
  • Provide 24/7 technical support as requested
  • Demonstrate purposeful growth through self-study, seeking out training and further education to develop new skills and identify and execute continuous improvement projects
