About The Position

The position involves providing engineering services to maintenance and operating department personnel to resolve maintenance, technical, and equipment reliability issues. The role requires establishing and maintaining safe work practices and a safe work environment for coworkers and employees. It is essential to ensure that mill rules are enforced and that company policies are followed. The position also includes scheduling and supervising mill and contract employees as required, evaluating the performance of hourly personnel under supervision, and ensuring that equipment files and databases are maintained properly. Understanding equipment operation and function is necessary to determine preventive and predictive maintenance needs, and developing preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance procedures is required to ensure equipment availability. Collaboration with peers is crucial to effectively maintain equipment and achieve uptime goals set by the department.

Requirements

  • BS degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering.
  • 2-3 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; pulp and paper experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in setting priorities and delegating.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Facilitating in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
