The Reliability Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the reliability and quality of product design and manufacturing processes within the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring that product validation and qualification tests are meticulously planned and executed according to customer and engineering test requirements, utilizing calibrated test equipment. The Reliability Manager will design and execute various pre-product reliability tests, including accelerated life tests and ongoing reliability monitoring tests, to ensure that products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. In addition to testing, the Reliability Manager will provide reliability prediction models at both the component and system levels. This role requires active participation in product development meetings, where the manager will guide the team in developing reliable products that adhere to internal specifications and customer requirements. The development of reliability test systems to meet new market demands is also a key responsibility, along with coordinating and managing testing for data collection and analysis. The Reliability Manager will present test and failure analysis results to the engineering team and collaborate with other groups to implement design changes aimed at improving reliability performance. This includes preparing comprehensive written reports that summarize the results of product performance and failure analysis for reliability test parts. The role also involves coordinating outsourced reliability tests and interfacing with customers and suppliers regarding product reliability. Additionally, the manager will work with vendors to procure lab equipment and will be responsible for making decisions within their area of expertise while managing medium to large projects. Proactive measures will be taken to prevent nonconformities, and the manager will monitor the implementation of solutions to verify their effectiveness, taking corrective action as necessary to standardize implementations and avoid future issues.
