About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations in our aluminum extrusion facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the maintenance team, ensuring that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are in optimal working condition, and minimizing downtime while maximizing efficiency. The Maintenance Supervisor will also support continuous improvement efforts, safety initiatives, and adherence to company standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Strong knowledge of aluminum extrusion processes, machinery, and equipment maintenance.
Experience with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Familiarity with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems and industrial automation.
Proficient in the use of maintenance management software and other relevant tools.
Ability to lead, train, and develop a high-performing maintenance team.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations within an industrial environment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call duties, if necessary.
Ability to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and work in various industrial environments.
Must be able to work in confined spaces and noisy environments.

Responsibilities

Supervise Maintenance Team: Lead, train, and motivate a team of maintenance technicians and staff to ensure the timely and efficient execution of maintenance activities across the production facility.
Preventive Maintenance Program: Oversee and execute a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment, including extruders, presses, ovens, and auxiliary systems. Ensure equipment performance and reliability are optimized.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in the facility. Lead the team in diagnosing and repairing failures to minimize production downtime.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure routine checks, repairs, and servicing of aluminum extrusion machinery and auxiliary equipment. Maintain detailed records of all work performed, parts used, and time spent on repairs.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety procedures and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
Inventory Management: Manage spare parts and tools inventory, ensuring availability of critical components to minimize downtime. Order and maintain supplies, tracking inventory levels to prevent shortages.
Budget & Cost Control: Assist in the development of the maintenance department's budget, ensuring effective cost control. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement improvements where applicable.
Team Development: Provide coaching and training to maintenance personnel, developing their skills and encouraging continuous improvement. Ensure team members are up to date with industry best practices and relevant technologies.
Production Support: Collaborate with the production team to plan and execute maintenance activities around production schedules, minimizing disruptions to operations.
Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in efforts to improve equipment performance, processes, and work methods to increase operational efficiency.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repair logs, equipment history, and reports. Generate regular reports to management on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and issues.
