About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Reliability Technician to support our Allen Texas Rel Lab operations. This role is critical for evaluating the durability and integrity of semiconductor components. You will be responsible for executing complex stress tests, specifically focusing on ESD and Latchup characterization, to ensure our products meet industry standards and internal quality benchmarks.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a semiconductor lab environment or reliability testing facility.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with ESD and Latchup test systems (e.g., Thermo Fisher, MK, or similar).
  • Familiarity with JEDEC/ESDA standards for component reliability.
  • Ability to read schematics and use standard lab tools (Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Curve Tracers).
  • Experience operating reliability stress tools (HTOL, ELFR, HAST, Temperature Cycling, etc.).
  • Education: Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical training).
  • Attributes: High attention to detail, strong safety mindset when handling sensitive components, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced lab. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Reliability Testing: Set up and execute a variety of environmental and mechanical stress tests according to defined protocols (THB, HAST, HTOL, HTSL, Temp Cycle).
  • ESD Characterization: Perform component-level ESD testing, including Human Body Model (HBM) and Charged Device Model (CDM), using automated test equipment.
  • Latchup Testing: Conduct Latchup testing per JEDEC standards (e.g., JESD78) to identify functional failures or permanent damage caused by parasitic structures.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor tests in progress, collect raw data, and provide initial reports on pass/fail criteria and unexpected electrical behavior.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine calibration and troubleshooting of ESD and Latchup testers. Basic equipment maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting to ensure continuous tool availability.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of test setups, board configurations, and failure symptoms for the engineering team. Execute test setups per engineer-provided test plans and document results accurately. Record and track device data, lot movement, and test progress in lab systems. Ensure compliance with safety, ESD, and cleanroom protocols. Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance lab efficiency and reliability.
