The Reliability Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining the reliability strategies of instrumentation and electrical (I&E) systems across multiple plant operations. This includes field equipment, communication links, and associated control devices in both local and remote environments. The position supports equipment selection, specification, standard development, compliance, maintenance planning, and performance improvement initiatives. The role places a strong emphasis on achieving high levels of equipment availability, safety, cost efficiency, and mechanical integrity.

  • Develop and support I&E reliability improvement programs.
  • Utilize CMMS, failure evaluation, Pareto and cost analysis tools.
  • Create and manage inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance (ITPM) plans.
  • Recommend and justify equipment upgrades; prepare Authorization Requests with lifecycle cost analysis.
  • Manage data systems for specifications, calibration, validations, maintenance history, and reliability tools.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering is required, Professional Engineer License preferred.
  • 3-5 years in the I&E Maintenance or engineering within chemical, petrochemical or refining industry preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored visa now or in the future.
  • Familiarity with process measurement instruments (flow, pressure, temperature, level, wireless).
  • Working knowledge of SIS and IEC 61511.
  • Strong CMMS, predictive/preventive maintenance expertise.
  • Experience with instrument management tools (e.g., Intergraph SI).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong communication and technical writing.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and self-starting.
  • Effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in dynamic environments.
