Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Reliability & Equipment Engineer to join our Maintenance Team to ensure operations run smoothly with our facilities at our Midland, MI location. Under the supervision of the Reliability Maintenance Group Leader, you will be responsible for successfully utilizing reliability best practices to analyze facility equipment and implement improvements. The ultimate goal of this job is to provide reliability expertise to maintain a facility that operates equipment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the year. What You’ll Do: Track & report out asset AU data and production losses Participate in the facilitation and implementation of the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process to include application of the cause-and-effect methodology in all areas where reliability opportunities are identified and where the RCA triggers are met Focuses on longer term reliability issues and not short-term firefighting issues Create and execute maintenance strategies that maximize economic value (EBITDA) for manufacturing assets Provide input on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) goal based on facility configuration and implement improvements to meet goal Adjusts Maintenance strategy based on asset needs, i.e. low cost or high operational reliability Determine required operational reliability to meet customer demand Develop strategic improvement plans for the facility including outage strategy, inline spares, strategic buffers, rebuild frequencies and turnaround frequency Support Maintenance Engineers on larger maintenance/reliability issues Interface with vessel engineers to develop repair and alteration plans for damaged vessels Evaluate/validate the impact of corrective actions that impact availability/ reliability and leverages solutions across a business or site if appropriate Uses reliability engineering principles and tools (Weibull, RCA, FMEA) to increase asset capability Participate in plant health study and efforts to implement corrective action to maintain or improve plant health Uses long term cost of ownership and reliability engineering principles to optimize spare parts stockage levels Applies long term cost of ownership and reliability engineering principles to design reliability into our purchasing requirements Participates in reliability network activities Own critical equipment identification for all new projects and existing infrastructure. Develop plans to ensure reliable operations of critical systems. Work with project managers and facility engineers to ensure all reliability components are appropriately accounted for and documented in accordance with maintenance and operational requirements. Especially in regards to identifying failure modes, spare parts, inventory levels, and efficient/cost effective preventative maintenance plans. Execute and manage reliability projects utilizing internal resources and outside contractors. Provide consultation for mechanical integrity as it relates to OSHA, Corteva and other global safety institutes. Develop equipment and facility end of life replacement strategies using reliability principles, e.g. ARWP, manufacture’s recommendations, and condition monitoring. Create and update Reliability work processes specifications to drive strategy and create standardization. Optimize preventative maintenance activities by reducing frequencies, adjusting scopes, changing assigned lead, etc. Provide technical expertise and leadership to assist planning and scheduling to ensure work orders adhere to reliability principles, e.g. time estimates for planned maintenance work.
