About The Position

Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables. Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Reliability Engineering intern to execute hazard evaluations supporting the design, build and operation of near-term nuclear and non-nuclear hardware demonstration projects. The Reliability Engineering intern will work in close consultation with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls (I&C), testing, manufacturing, operations, and licensing engineering staff to collect operating experience from the Kairos development program, implement reliability strategies, and to conduct hazard evaluations such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). In this role, you will contribute to the technology development programs for the demonstration and commercialization of Kairos Power reactors.
