About The Position

We’re seeking a skilled Reliability Engineer to join our Melt Shop Maintenance team in Calvert, North Mobile County, AL.   Objective: Identify and manage asset reliability risks that may adversely affect the plant and business operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related field required  or equivalent experience  +10 years of within engineering discipline
  • +2 years professional experience of reliability process in manufacturing/production industries.
  • Proven knowledge in the application of reliability tools.
  • Experience using statistical and probability methods and tools
  • Experiences performing tests and analysis.
  • Knowledge of statistical, mathematical, and engineering concepts.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical system and mechanical systems
  • Experience in SAP preferred.
  • A natural aptitude for mathematics, statistics, and numerical data.
  • Analytical and logical critical thinker

  • Ability to communicate clearly and active listening
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
  • Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs and ramps) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
  • Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat
  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt
  • Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
  • Ability to frequently use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
  • Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
  • Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position 
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems 
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques
  • Ability to safely use power and hand tools
  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment for tasks and diagnostic purposes, including overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the implementation of the strategic development of asset reliability centered maintenance applications.
  • Identify, initiate, coordinate, and complete maintenance process improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in the development, design, and installation of predictive maintenance programs and technology applications to identify and eliminate defects.
  • Able to handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Utilize analytical and engineering skills to identify and reduce/eliminate repeated equipment failures.
  • Monitors and tracks line equipment availability and operating efficiency issues.
  • Develop maintenance, calibration, and inspection strategies through a risk-based approach or methodology.
  • Perform FMEA's and RCFA’s to ensure long term maintenance equipment problems are appropriately investigated with solutions implemented.
  • Identify and review critical spares when required, following a documented process, as part of planned maintenance and/or inspection strategy reviews.
  • Follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Assist in generating reports.
