Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you About the Team: As part of the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program, the Reliability Engineer role will include a wide variety of reliability engineering tasks and activities for Missile, Reentry, and Support Equipment hardware as part of a team within the Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) organization, with a primary focus on electrical and electronics assemblies. About the Role: As a Reliability Engineer, you will spend much of your time working in a team environment, obtaining inputs from other engineers, performing analyses, and creating presentations / reports. There may be some travel. You will interact with engineers, suppliers, quality, production operations, program managers, customers, and customer consultants. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, self-driven, and can multitask as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience with Reliability principles, practices, and understanding of root cause analysis
  • Experience performing basic electrical circuit analysis using schematics to assess the effects of failure modes
  • Experience with subsystems to system level integration
  • Ability to travel as needed ~ 10%
  • Active or Current Secret clearance; US Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in a Reliability or Electrical Engineering related field
  • Knowledge and experience with probability, statistical concepts, and mathematical modelling
  • Missile/aerospace related background or experience - Reliability prediction experience in accordance with industry standards (e.g. MIL-HDBK-217, empirical test data, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience with probability, statistical concepts, and mathematical modelling
  • FMEA/FMECA process – Familiarity with electrical circuit modelling and simulation tools
  • Parts Engineering expertise and knowledge of MIL-PRF screening requirements
  • Knowledge of product test, environmental and reliability testing or manufacturing engineering
  • Systems engineering and production
  • Requirements development, system design, problem analysis and resolution, and integration and test
  • Experience with Reliability modeling software (Windchill Risk and Reliability, Relex, Reliasoft, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Strong technical writing skills for the preparation of plans and reports, and strong verbal communication skills for customer presentations
  • Experience with program level execution of a reliability program plan
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems, and strict attention to detail; effective analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high accuracy within requested timelines
  • Active or Current Top Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Developing reliability and maintainability predictions using approved prediction methodologies for electrical/electronic packages, systems, and support equipment
  • Performing Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), at the schematic (piece-part) and interface level
  • Supporting design reviews as required and presenting reliability results to management and customer.
  • Reviewing discrepancy documentation weekly for applicability to the organization
  • Provide electronics piece-part reliability support, including associated drawing reviews, parts control boards, and failure review boards
  • Supporting failure investigation teams and developing reliability / probabilistic assessments based on root cause of flight and ground test anomalies / failures
  • Performing system level severity / likelihood assessments for test program trends and failures
