About The Position

ROLE OVERVIEW: Improve and maintain integrity of the facilities, equipment, process and the preventative maintenance program. Implement design and design changes to new and existing equipment and facilities as part of the continuous improvement process. Support Maintenance Manager and achievement of department goals. 1st Shift Opportunity. The candidate stepping into this position is responsible for providing technical support and management of various programs related to the maintenance of a 24/7 paper mill and co-fired boiler.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or Reliability Engineering required.
  • Three (3) years minimum as a Reliability Engineer, with five (5) or more years of related technical manufacturing support experience in the Pulp and Paper industry is required.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance techniques - oil analysis, ultrasonic/sonic, vibration analysis, thermography, etc.
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to effectively plan and organize work
  • Effective analysis and problem-solving skills, effective leadership skills, good communication skills, and the ability to contribute to the success of the team while working with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with CMMS.
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS)
  • Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Developing equipment Bill of Materials (BOMs)
  • Management of the rotating equipment reliability program with a specific focus on centrifugal pumps, vibration analysis, mechanical seals, bearings, and lubrication.
  • Leading and improving the site lubrication plan
  • Serve as a member of project teams and steer projects to have reliability focus (Design for Reliability)
  • Miscellaneous technical support to the site as needed, including providing team leadership and project management for related installations and modifications to improve the facilities’ infrastructure and equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute maintenance activities during mill/department shutdowns.
  • Oversee contractors’ work, including preventative maintenance
  • Maintain, expand, and improve the preventative maintenance program.
  • Ensure that all repairs and operations are in compliance with regulatory and governing agencies with the highest regard for mill and personnel safety.
  • Oversee repair or special projects as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Assist with other duties as needed.
