The Marathon Martinez Renewable Fuels Facility has an opening for a Refining Reliability Instrument Engineer. The goals of the position include maintenance support, troubleshooting existing issues, budgeting for planned equipment replacements, implementing new solutions and creating new reliability programs targeting longer run-times, higher MTBF and safer operations. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, team-oriented individual who has experience with refinery and/or petrochemical applications that include process measurement and control, safety instrumented system (SIS) design and implementation, management of change (MOC) processes, and industry standards (ANSI, NFPA, API, ISA, NEMA, etc.). The position requires effective teamwork and interfacing with all departments of the facility. The hours of the position are 4-10s (Mon-Thu 6:00am to 4:30pm). Alternate schedules (such as 5-8s or 9-80) may be available. The position is expected to support a rotating on-call calendar approx. 4-6 weeks per year and Outages/Turnaround (TAR) as needed. Periodic overtime work, including weekends may be required.
