About The Position

We’re looking for a Lubrication Engineer to serve as an on-site technical representative at customer industrial facilities. In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with customer Reliability and Maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, optimize lubrication practices, and support adoption of lubricants and value-added services. You’ll collaborate with Account Managers and Regional Service Managers to deliver measurable improvements in equipment performance, Mean Time Between Repairs (MTBR), and overall program success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, or academic projects) in lubrication, rotating equipment, maintenance, or reliability engineering.
  • Fundamental knowledge of lubrication principles, tribology, and industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and willingness to perform hands-on work in industrial environments.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site 2–4 days per week.
  • U.S. work authorization.
  • Willingness to travel and support short-term assignments as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CMMS or reliability software (e.g., SAP, ServiceMax, LubeServ Client).
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Kaizen).
  • Participation in engineering clubs, capstone projects, or reliability-focused coursework.
  • Interest in customer-facing roles, sales support, or account management.
  • Certifications such as Noria Machine Lubrication Technician (MLT) Level I (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary on-site liaison with customer Reliability and Maintenance teams to support lubrication and reliability initiatives.
  • Perform hands-on lubrication tasks, including bearing lubrication, oil sampling, oil change-outs, installation of desiccant breathers, and automated lubrication systems.
  • Conduct lubrication and equipment audits to identify optimization and product conversion opportunities.
  • Recommend lubricant selections, application methods, and contamination control strategies to improve equipment reliability and MTBR.
  • Support implementation of automated lubrication systems, oil filtration, and purification solutions.
  • Promote and support value-added services, including oil analysis programs, lubrication training, and contamination control initiatives.
  • Assist in converting applications from competitor products to company lubricant portfolio.
  • Maintain accurate lubrication surveys and equipment documentation, identifying performance gaps and expansion opportunities.
  • Collect, analyze, and report reliability and lubrication data using company reliability software and reporting tools.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including MTBR, lubricant usage, service adoption, and site-level revenue growth.
  • Deliver technical training and presentations to customer maintenance and operations personnel.
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) processes related to lubrication systems and practices.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Regional Engineers to support customer programs and business development objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and vendors through written and verbal reports.
