About The Position

The current product reliability team works to improve the quality and reliability of our heavy duty powertrain.. The candidate for this position will work closely with our partners across the entire value chain from Product Development to Aftersales to develop multifaceted solutions to complex field failures. By taking a holistic problem solving approach, we ensure that our solutions provide superior products to our customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology or related field
  • 2 -4 years of related experience
  • Familiar with engine components and operation fundamentals
  • Proficient with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access)
  • Proficient at data analytics
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Pronounced organization and leadership skills
  • Ability to interpret component and assembly drawings
  • Able/willing to travel (less than 5%)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with engine fuel system components and operation
  • Experience with Detroit warranty analysis tools (OWL, Web-Focus, FQA, Fidat, Weibull)
  • Experience with Detroit service systems (Remedy, DTNA Connect, Virtual Technician, Data-Mining)
  • Experience with Detroit service tools (CANape, Diagnostic Link, DDEC Reports, DEPOT)
  • Familiar with standard manufacturing principles and practices
  • Familiar with production and quality systems (PTSI, SISAM)

Responsibilities

  • Identification of high failure rate systems and components early in the vehicle warranty and applying the appropriate corrective actions.
  • Lead cross functional team by defining the focus and priorities for resolving field reliability issues.
  • Analyze field warranty data to identify reliability trends for current and emerging issues.
  • Utilize structured problem solving methods to identify root cause and drive resolution of part and system related failures, with a major focus on a data driven approach.
  • Inspect failed parts to identify failure modes and cause of failure.
  • Develop testing procedures for field return parts to support failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering and suppliers on field quality issues.
  • Manage documentation and reporting to management for field quality issues.
