SUMMARY Provide technical assistance to the maintenance supervision in the repair and improvement of all process equipment throughout the plant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required; PE, CMRP, API 510, API 570, API 653 certifications a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance/reliability work in the petrochemical industry.
  • Experience with stationary equipment is required; knowledge of NDE, shop processes, ASME/API code, corrosion and metallurgy preferred.
  • Familiar with OSHA’s process safety management standard regarding mechanical integrity.
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office. Should also have a working knowledge of a CMMS program and an Inspection Data Management System (IDMS).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).

Responsibilities

  • Review fixed equipment inspection reports and recommendations for equipment repair and/or replacement.
  • Ensure inspections are done timely and that the inspection intervals are optimized.
  • Review inspection frequencies of pressure safety valves to ensure they are adequate and track compliance.
  • Evaluate fixed equipment fitness for continued service.
  • Perform equipment failure analysis (i.e. root cause analysis) to determined and correct equipment problems to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Follow equipment repair in shops to ensure timely and proper repair.
  • Work with other engineers to develop and improve maintenance procedures for equipment inspection and repair.
  • Actively participate in process improvement programs such as Six Sigma, etc.
  • Participate in the PACE culture of safety and demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety.
