About The Position

About the Team: The Reliability Engineering team is a core part of the missile development and sustainment effort, ensuring that every subsystem meets stringent performance and safety requirements throughout the product lifecycle. We work closely with design, test, and production groups to identify, analyze, and mitigate failure mechanisms, driving continuous improvement and mission critical availability. Key Responsibilities Failure Analysis & Reporting – Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) on test and field data, prepare clear reports, and recommend corrective actions. Reliability Modeling – Apply Weibull, exponential, and other statistical models to predict component and system reliability. Test Planning & Execution – Assist in designing and executing environmental, vibration, thermal, and life cycle tests; collect and interpret data. Data Management – Maintain reliability databases (e.g., MIL HDBK 217, FMEA) and ensure traceability of test results. Design Reviews – Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews, providing reliability input and highlighting potential risk areas. Continuous Improvement – Contribute to the development of reliability standards, procedures, and best practice documentation. Collaboration – Work with suppliers, manufacturing, and quality groups to ensure reliability goals are met across the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Academic Experience: Coursework or project work in reliability engineering, statistical analysis, fatigue/structural analysis, or control systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with SQL, or R for data analysis; familiarity with reliability software (e.g., ReliaSoft, Minitab) is a plus.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong problem solving skills; ability to interpret complex test data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Communication: Effective written and oral communication; ability to produce clear technical reports and present findings to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain a security clearance (U.S. citizen or permanent resident required).
  • Team Orientation: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Nice To Haves
