About The Position

CommIT Enterprises is seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead Agile Release Train (ART) execution for a Department of Defense (DoD) data modernization initiative. This role will support cross-functional teams working in secure cloud and data engineering environments, including integration with Advana platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical agility, systems thinking, and stakeholder coordination to drive program increment success across multiple teams. Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense's (DoD) GCSS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran's Affairs' (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of SAFe® principles and Agile frameworks
• Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Agile metrics dashboards
• Familiarity with DoD contracting environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to synthesize complex technical and operational data for leadership reporting
• Experience working in environments supporting data engineering workflows, cloud-native architectures, and DevSecOps pipelines
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification required
• Security+ and Certified Scrum Developer certifications are a plus
• 6+ years of experience in Agile program management or Scrum leadership
• 3+ years as a Release Train Engineer or equivalent role on large-scale programs
• Prior experience supporting DoD or federal government contracts

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience with data engineering environments and/or Advana integration
• Knowledge of Advana data layers, ingestion pipelines, and reporting tools
• Familiarity with hybrid-cloud deployments and secure enclave operations
• Experience supporting workforce enablement, compliance audits, and technical upskilling

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Sprint Reviews
• Coordinate dependencies, risks, and impediments across teams and vendors
• Drive continuous improvement and lean-agile maturity across the ART
• Collaborate with Product Management, Solution Architects, and Engineering Leads to align vision and delivery
• Maintain and optimize flow of value using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Power BI
• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity, audit, and reporting standards
• Support integration efforts with Advana and other data platforms
