About The Position

The Release Train Engineer plays a meaningful role in delivering high-quality modern solutions as part of the Agile Release Train (ART). This role will be accountable for acting as a servant leader and Agile coach to the teams on the ART and as a change agent, evangelizing the tenets of Agile and Scrum across Functions and Finance Risk Technology.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to become a product SME with deep understanding of Epics, value streams, data flows, systems, and program dependencies
  • 7+ years working in an Agile environment with deep understanding of Scrum, Kanban, Scaling Agile and Lean Agile Frameworks.
  • 5+ years working in an Agile environment as a SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), Scrum @ Scale Scrum of Scrums Master (SoSM), or similar roles from other scaling frameworks.
  • Expert knowledge in Jira and Zephyr Enterprise with ability to create dashboards, team boards, and Planview
  • Expert in facilitation, problem solving and influencing outcomes
  • Expert knowledge of best practices in value driven development (requirements management, prototyping, hypothesis driven development, usability testing).
  • Strong knowledge of technical engineering best practices including test driven development, continuous integration, DevOps.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of common practices to manage risk from risk identification through mitigation and monitoring

  • SAFe RTE, Scrum Master and Agile Certifications are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep product expertise, becoming an SME on program‑level Epics, scope, dependencies, risks, and sequencing.
  • Drives PI Readiness by ensuring Features/Epics are well‑defined, prioritized, decomposed, dependency‑mapped, and reviewed with PMs, POs, and Tech Leads well ahead of PI Planning.
  • Maintains a holistic dependency map across teams, coordinating mitigation strategies, sequencing, and cross‑team communication.
  • Lead readiness checkpoints to ensure architectural runway, backlog health, risk visibility, and stakeholder alignment prior to PI Planning.
  • Ensure smooth PI execution by enabling impediment removal, reinforcing flow, and maintaining alignment with Product and Engineering leaders.
  • Build strong, trust‑based relationships with Business Owners, Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Tech Leads, and Scrum Masters.
  • Facilitate program‑level ceremonies including PI Planning, ART Sync, Scrum of Scrums, Inspect & Adapt, and System Demos.
  • Support consistent delivery by reinforcing practices that drive predictability, built‑in quality, and operational excellence.
  • Maintain and leverage program metrics (predictability, flow, quality, risks, dependencies) to identify improvement opportunities across the ART.
  • Coordinate major feature releases and ongoing value delivery to customers
  • Ensure risk and compliance goals are met through enablement of high code quality, robust backlogs, and reduction of technical debt
  • Enable the removal of or escalate impediments to the Scrum Teams or ART progress
