The Leidos Partnership for Defense Health is seeking a Release Manager to work REMOTELY and support its $4.6B single-award DHMSM IDIQ contract, known as MHS GENESIS. This highly visible program modernizes Electronic Health Record (EHR) capabilities for the Department of Defense, supporting nearly 10 million service members and their families worldwide. While every healthcare system addresses quality, user experience, and cost, the MHS GENESIS program has the added challenge of delivering these objectives within the DoD security environment and at global scale—while supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA)’s vision of a medically ready force, which is essential to our national defense. The Release Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of enterprise release management, including the planning, execution, and sustainment of scheduled releases—Capability Blocks and Maintenance windows—across a complex federal EHR environment. This role oversees the Schedule Change Control Board (SCCB) to ensure synchronization, risk mitigation, and stakeholder alignment across project releases and change requests. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING The Release Manager leads the Release Management Team, which sustains systems and manages the overall delivery cadence of clinical systems platform upgrades and enhancements, with a particular focus on Capability Blocks. The team also provides project management support for a portfolio of products scheduled for coordinated release. Direct enterprise-wide release management for a federal EHR portfolio encompassing multiple mission-critical clinical and business applications. Lead and coordinate end-to-end planning, scheduling, and execution of releases, including application enhancements, operating system patches, security upgrades, and infrastructure updates. Deliver key release management and status reporting both internally and to customers ensuring accuracy, clarity, and relevance for diverse audiences. Ensure all releases comply with federal standards, cybersecurity requirements, and applicable industry regulations. Manage Change Request (CR) review as part of the Release Management process. Oversee and facilitate the Schedule Change Control Board (SCCB), ensuring effective governance, impact assessment, risk mitigation, and alignment across stakeholders and dependent systems. Lead system release planning, scheduling, and deployment management at the project level, including baseline and version management, implementation and rollback planning, communication planning, and operational change requests. Produce and maintain comprehensive release and implementation plans, coordinating release content based on application schedules, service request backlogs, and operating system updates. Manage and sustain the delivery cadence of clinical systems platform upgrades and integrated releases, with emphasis on Capability Blocks. Provide project management oversight for a portfolio of products planned for release, ensuring alignment with enterprise schedules, priorities, and dependencies. Collaborate with geographically dispersed technical, clinical, and business teams to ensure strong cross-functional coordination and shared accountability. Maintain executive-level transparency through clear, consistent communication of release scope, schedules, risks, dependencies, and operational impacts. Proactively identify release risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and drive resolution to minimize operational disruption.
