About The Position

The Release Coordinator at Tecolote Research, Inc. is a mid to advanced level role focused on managing the software deployment process across multiple servers. The position requires a blend of technical skills, including server setup, website management, and troubleshooting capabilities. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with various teams, including management, development, QA, and deployment, to ensure effective and timely software releases while adhering to cybersecurity requirements.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working with a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), preferably Agile.
  • Familiarity with the setup and deployment of websites using IIS, .NET Framework, .NET, static HTML, and RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of software development, QA, server management, and source control.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar project management software (e.g., Jira).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for server issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • US Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SQL Server.
  • Basic development technologies knowledge.
  • Familiarity with automated testing, unit testing, and QA tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman).
  • Knowledge of PowerShell.
  • Experience with cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Control the deployment of software packages to multiple servers.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to automated (CI/CD) and manual deployments.
  • Manage scheduled releases, urgent releases (hotfixes), and patches as needed.
  • Systematically test sites and their accessibility, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Facilitate compliance with government and contractual cybersecurity requirements for development and production servers.
  • Document and follow documented steps for completion of duties.
  • Convey instructions in written and verbal form to production hosts.
