The Relationship Specialist I is responsible for providing exceptional member experiences with every interaction, both in-person and on the phone. This role involves identifying member cues, asking open-ended discovery questions, and growing consumer and business relationships by understanding member needs and positioning VyStar financial solutions. The specialist must be able to articulate VyStar Credit Union’s value proposition against competitors and emphasize the importance of educating and proactively assisting members with their financial goals. Key duties include strengthening member relationships through quality conversations, cross-selling credit union solutions, handling personal and business account transactions, opening accounts, and processing loan applications. The position also requires explaining credit and savings options, referring complex business products, mortgage solutions, investments, and insurance, and providing additional services such as account maintenance, notary, wire transfers, and fraud claims. The incumbent is expected to support credit union initiatives, exercise sound judgment, work with relative independence, maintain a high degree of integrity and professionalism, resolve member problems, and actively participate in community service. They must also proactively identify, assess, manage, and report risks within their domain of work, ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates.
