About The Position

Messenger International is a ministry with a divine calling to develop uncompromising followers of Christ who transform our world and therefore, this position will be filled by a candidate who 1) embodies the core beliefs of our organization with respect to God, The Bible, and God’s function in our everyday life and 2) champions our fundamental commitment as an organization to spread the gospel to the world. Purpose: Responsible for advancing Messenger International’s vision by cultivating meaningful, trust-based relationships with major and mid-level donors, ensuring they are well-informed, engaged, and connected to the mission and impact of the ministry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, ministry, or related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in fundraising, customer relationship management, sales, ministry partnership, or business development required
  • Experience working with CRM systems preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain ongoing relationships
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to articulate organizational mission and impact
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Coachable and eager to develop fundraising competencies
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated follow-through
  • High degree of professionalism and ethical conduct
  • High levels of professional discretion
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Ability to work independently in a primarily virtual environment
  • Signed acknowledgement of Messenger’s “Statement of Faith” and “Staff Covenant/Lifestyle Agreement” forms
  • Signed acknowledgement to policies and procedures as stated in our employee handbook
  • Has the ability to function independently
  • Possess the ability to speak
  • Has the physical ability to be able to lift up to 25 pounds (with or without assistance)
  • Must be able to present evidence of identity and legal right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and nurture a portfolio primarily consisting of mid-level donors and qualified partners
  • Execute established engagement plans to strengthen donor connection and long-term involvement
  • Conduct donor interactions through virtual meetings, phone calls, and written communications to build meaningful relationships
  • Clearly communicate ministry vision, initiatives, and impact stories
  • Invite financial partnership in alignment with approved strategies and campaign priorities
  • Provide consistent stewardship including gratitude communication, impact reporting, and timely follow-up
  • Identify donors with capacity and interest for increased engagement and collaborate with senior team members for advancement strategy
  • Maintain accurate and timely donor records in CRM systems, including contact reports and next steps
  • Support data hygiene and portfolio review processes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing and finance to ensure donor communications are accurate and timely
  • Represent Messenger International with professionalism and warmth in all donor interactions
  • Participate in occasional in-person donor meetings as needed
  • Other related work, as assigned
