About The Position

At PNC, the Relationship Manager II - Business Banker role within the Business Banking organization focuses on providing cash flow solutions to businesses with annual sales ranging from $1 million to $5 million. Based in the Chicago market, this role involves acting as a trusted advisor, leveraging business acumen to facilitate cash flow conversations with clients and prospects, and managing the ongoing sales cycle to optimize customer cash flow. Targeted small business segments include Retail, Agricultural, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Professional Services, Wholesale, and Women in Business. The Relationship Manager will develop and cultivate Center of Influence (COI) relationships to achieve sales goals and business objectives, working with internal service partners to onboard and expand the business portfolio. PNC operates as an in-office company, fostering a supportive culture. This position does not offer sponsorship for employment visas or participation in STEM OPT. The role coordinates relationship management activities with new and/or existing clients to grow sales, revenue, and market share, typically dealing with clients of moderate risk and complexity under moderate supervision. Responsibilities include acquiring, expanding, and retaining client relationships, handling the origination, financial analysis, negotiation, and documentation of credit and non-credit products. The manager will also identify and mitigate various risks (regulatory, reputational, operational, credit), focus on client opportunities by providing insights, increase client engagement and loyalty, and manage internal and external networks to acquire and expand clients. The role emphasizes presenting the full range of PNC's products and services and leveraging sales tools to convert opportunities. It also requires the ability to analyze, evaluate, and mitigate credit risk for complex requests using advanced credit fundamentals and internal policies. Employees are expected to be customer-focused and adept at managing risk in line with PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Requirements

  • University / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience (or a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience, including military service).
  • Bachelors degree.

Responsibilities

  • Provide cash flow solutions to businesses with annual sales from $1 million to $5 million.
  • Leverage business acumen to facilitate cash flow conversations with clients and prospects.
  • Manage the on-going sales cycle to optimize the cash flow of business customers so they can achieve their goals.
  • Develop and cultivate Center of Influence (COI) relationships to meet and exceed sales goals and business objectives.
  • Work with internal services partners to on-board and expand the business portfolio.
  • Coordinate relationship management activities with new and/or existing clients in a book of business to grow sales, revenue and market share with relevant sales goals.
  • Work within stated guidelines to acquire and/or expand and retain client relationships to generate revenue and deepen share of wallet.
  • Handle the origination, financial analysis, negotiation and documentation of credit and non-credit products and services.
  • Manage risk/return and drive quality for new and/or existing clients.
  • Actively identify and mitigate different types of risk, such as regulatory, reputational, operational and credit risks.
  • Focus on client opportunities by providing ideas and insights based on an understanding of the client's needs and their financial well-being.
  • Focus on increasing client engagement and loyalty.
  • Manage effective network of internal and external relationships, such as community or industry relationships, to actively acquire new clients and/or expand existing clients and enhance the client experience.
  • Focus on bringing entire bank to the client by presenting the full range of PNC's products and services.
  • Leverage reporting and sales tools to proactively identify and successfully convert sales opportunities.
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze, evaluate and mitigate credit risk for more complex credit requests by utilizing knowledge of advanced credit fundamentals and internal credit policies.
  • Be Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Be Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
