GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Under general supervision, but following existing policies and procedures as well as all applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA and AML, is responsible for meeting all aspects of a loan portfolio including meeting various assigned production and administrative goals. Responsible for keeping the Market Manager informed on significant developments on any loan in the portfolio.

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
  • Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 3 years related experience and/or training.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Meets or exceeds the individual annual loan production goal for new loan growth as assigned by the Market Manager.
  • Responsible for meeting annual calling goals to develop new business relationships and increase or retain existing business by calling prospective new customers, existing customers, and referral sources. This includes cross selling bank/subsidiary products and services. The quality of calls plays a vital role in the growth and development of the commercial banking portfolio.
  • Communicates effectively with prospective and existing customers while providing a timely and professional response.
  • Obtains and reviews all financial and credit information for underwriting loan requests and directs the preparation of all loan memorandums and write-ups being presented to the loan committee or the appropriate signor.
  • Leads and directs the documentation of loans while working closely with the loan assistant, loan documentation department, and legal counsel to ensure compliance with the approved terms, conditions, established lending policies and regulations.
  • Presents and effectively communicates the request of new and renewed loans for appropriate approval, including loan committee.
  • Responsible for achieving goals assigned by the Market Manager including past due loans, technical exceptions, late renewals, and past due borrower financials.
  • Actively works to limit or reduce non-performing assets in loan portfolio. This may include workout structures, foreclosures, repossession of assets, or pursuit of borrowers or guarantors.
  • Works closely with Credit Analyst offering ongoing guidance to provide direction and training opportunities to support their professional development.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
