About The Position

The Relationship Banker I at Mascoma Bank is a key member of the Retail Team, serving as the first point of contact for customers. This role focuses on assisting clients with daily banking transactions, handling inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service to enhance their financial well-being. The position aims to build and strengthen customer relationships by identifying solutions to their issues and offering products and services that simplify their banking experience. Responsibilities also include guiding customers through account opening and application processes, setting expectations for financial management, and consistently demonstrating a positive, customer-first attitude.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in problem-solving
  • Great, positive attitude and likes to work with people on a team
  • Flexibility in job schedules and work locations including Saturday and early morning drive-up hours
  • Professional appearance; grooming and dress consistent with Mascoma Bank appearance policy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of customer information

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with their daily banking needs including deposits and withdrawals
  • Build and enhance customer relationships by finding ways to solve customers’ issues or identifying ways to enhance their financial lives
  • Understand how Mascoma Bank can support customers through its products and services to help them understand the best options for making banking easy
  • Guide customers through the account opening and application processes and prepare expectations for how best to manage their finances
  • Continuously demonstrate a helpful, friendly, positive attitude that makes the customers happy they chose Mascoma Bank for their banking needs
  • Maintain a commitment to putting the Customer First in every interaction by taking ownership of the customer experience and striving toward providing first contact resolution
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area and ensure that all negotiable and confidential records are properly secured
  • Understand and adhere to Mascoma Bank’s policies and procedures
  • Adhere to and uphold all written policies and procedures of Mascoma Bank, including BSA/CIP and OFAC monitoring and reporting, security, operation, and personnel policies
